What is KinoTrain?
KinoTrain is a six-degrees-of-separation movie game — a chain puzzle where you connect a starting actor to a target film by hopping between actors and the movies they appeared in, in as few moves as possible.
How do you play?
You start with an actor and a target movie. Pick a film from the actor's credits, then pick a co-star or the director from that film, and keep alternating actor → film → actor until you reach the target. Fewer moves is a better score.
Is KinoTrain free?
Yes. There's a new Daily Challenge every day plus unlimited free play across three difficulty levels. There are no ads.
What is the Daily Challenge?
Every day there's one shared puzzle that's the same for every player. Solve it to keep your streak alive and share your spoiler-free result with friends.
Do I need an account?
No. KinoTrain needs no account and no sign-up. Your streak and stats are stored on your device.
Does KinoTrain collect my data?
No personal data. The app collects only anonymous, aggregate usage statistics (via the privacy-friendly, open-source Aptabase) and contains no advertising or cross-app tracking. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Where does the movie data come from?
Films, posters, cast, and crew are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). KinoTrain uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Which devices are supported?
KinoTrain is built for iPhone and iPad. An Android version is planned for a future release.
